On April 25th a successful Innovation Session took place for the Additive4Industry project at the Hannover Messe. The Additive4Industry project is a collaboration between the Bavarian Cluster for Mechatronics and Automation Augsburg (Cluster M&A) and the Brainport Eindhoven consortium to  start bilateral cross-border innovation collaboration partnerships in additive manufacturing.

The Additive4Industry project offers an ideal opportunity for R&D driven companies and knowledge institutes to establish innovation collaboration across the border. The Additive4Industry team offers support and means to speed up the innovation process or an innovation project.

The project, which is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education to promote internationalization of top clusters, receives full support from both the Bavarian Government as well as the Dutch Government. The Secretary-General of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, Mr. Maarten Camps, underlined the relevance of this project and offered his support.

During the Innovation Session some good interactions were started about future projects between knowledge institutes and companies in Bavaria and Brainport Eindhoven. This is to be continued on May 17th in Eindhoven. Then, a delegation of Bavarian knowledge institutes will visit Dutch peers for a ‘deep dive’ in the technological competences of Brainport Eindhoven in the field of additive manufacturing and to explore the possibilities for concrete innovation projects.

IHKs insight:

The CCI Nuremberg is supporting this project on additive manufacturing. The technological cooperation between Brainport and Brabant and the CCI Nuremberg for the Metropolregion Nürnberg started in 2015 and is covering several topics like industry, smart mobility, healthcare, etc. with several acitivies.
